This lube requires a steady source of heat (Lyman type heater or light bulb) and is clean, not sticky or greasy . This was designed for production hot lubesizers and is a deep Purple (photo makes it look black but it's purple).Alox and beeswax lubes tend to gum up all the bullets in your bin and then it migrates to your seating die (causing short seats). Not true With Jake's!!It's good for all pistol and rifle cast bullets. stays in the lube grooves and will not crumble or shrink. It's truly great stuff!!! You won't be disappointed!! Purple Ceresin does exactly what I wanted. I cast and shoot 2000-3000 rounds per month for action pistol shooting so I don't have time to pamper every bullet. With other lubes I had to put each bullet on the counter, base down, one at a time as I sized them to prevent lube migration. That was too slow when sizing so many bullets. With Purple Ceresin I can drop the bullets in a box and not have the lube go where it shouldn't. The lubes I have used in the past all remained sticky on the bullet and the lube ended up on the nose of the bullets, the outside of the cartridges and made everything sticky necessitating cleaning of every round after loading. Purple Ceresin stays where it's put. It doesn't come off of the bullet and get on my hands while reloading. Once it cools it is dry and firm. Even when warm it stays on the bullet and doesn't get on the other bullets. Thanks, Jake's for solving a commercial level problem for a home caster!
