Leitz DescriptionThe Leica If is a version of the LeicaIIIf without a viewfinder, rangefinder or slow speeds. A flash contactwas fitted in the slow speed dial location. It was made by Leitz forspecial use, such as scientific photography, wide-angle photography, ortele photography with a reflex housing. It has two accessory shoes,allowing the use of a viewfinder and an auxiliary rangefinder (invertical position) at the same time. There were two versions - thescarce Black Dial, with less than 2000 made in 1952 and the Red Dialmade from 1952 to 1957.
Condition
- Serial #761791, Leica IF Body only, Made in Wetzlar, Germany.
- Unit is in GOOD condition, shows wear andtear.
- Shutter works on all speeds and does not hang at all. Shutterspeed accuracy untested. Film advance works smoothly.
- Accessory shoe directly above lense is damaged, but still holds aviewfinder fine. May be swapped with the undamaged one next to it.
- No body cap included. No lense or viewfinder included.
