Lionel HO Rare Set 5767 - Valise Set in Excellent Condition in Original Case For Sale

Very rare Lionel HO 5767 Valise set in excellent condition in original valise case. The famous 1961 set was touted as a train set that can be moved in the brief case and set up \"on the move\". The idea was one of the more interesting marketing ploys in the Lionel HO line. The set includes the 0642 steamer with tender, 0337 giraffe car, 0319 helicopter car and 0841 caboose. The cars are in excellent+ condition with the small part of the top helicopter broken off in the set box. The set packaging includes the vinyl brief case, the gray top insert and bottom tray insert. As shown in the images, the original paperwork is complete to the set including instructions for train outfitter and operating cars, 1961 catalog, billboard set and all small part envelopes. An oval track set up (this is Atlas track used in the 61 sets) is locked in the platform insert. A few of the track ties have been cracked in the setbox. The top insert shows some creasing which is common to the nature of the packaging in this set. There is slight discoloration under the helicopter car that is due to the oil used in in the coil spring assembly. The original vinyl case has good color and in excellent condition. The brass plated hardware for the latch and handle show some oxidation. Extremely presentable set in 100% collector condition. The transformer will be shipped outside the box for safe transit.
