Lot 3 Vintage Puukko Saami Lapp Fighting Knives Scrimshaw Bone Reindeer Finland
Offered for sale is a Lot of 3 Vintage Finnish Finland Puukko Saami Lapp Fighting Knives with Sheaths from the estate of a local collector. The smallest is about 7-1/2\" long, with a blade length of about 3-3/4\". It has a metal and wood grip with a horse head pommel and a leather and metal sheath. The blade is etched, but we cannot read it. The medium-sized knife is about 8-3/4\" long, with a blade length of about 4-1/4\". It has a spalted wood handle made of what looks like beech, birch or maple, and a leather sheath with the design of a moose or reindeer and the Finland flag. The largest knife is about 10-1/2\" long, with a blade length of about 5-7/8\". It has a bone or scrimshaw handle with the image of a reindeer etched into it, and the blade is etched \"Made in Finland.\" The sheath is made of leather and what appears to be reindeer hide. Please note that we are not experts in bladed weapons and are describing these knives based on others with a similar appearance. Consider the pictures to be part of the item description, and use your best judgment when offerding.
