Tiffany\'s \"Gold Dore\"gilt bronzefinish was achieved by using a 24K gold electroplate process on the base metal that was then highly polished to give a bright gold effect. Theplate has its original naturally aged patina andis in excellent condition with no noted damage.Thebaseis fully and correctly stamped\"Louis C. Tiffany Furnaces, Inc.\" and \"Favrille, 429\".

I had originally thought that the colored glass inserts were enamel, but afterresearching similar plates online to write my description, I saw that everyonewas describing them as glass inserts, which I think by definition is whatFavrile means. So that\'s the reason why I described them as glass. I will takea closer look to see if I can tell for certain whether theyare enamel or glass.

I\'m no expert, but if I had to guess, I think the inlays are indeed enamel. I think it would be too difficult to create glass in the exact shape of the pattern on the plate.
