Mantola MD4 Transistor (licensee from Regency for TR-4 production) -Bright Red: $136.49
Mantola MD4 Transistor (licensee from Regency for TR-4 production) -Bright RedMantola and Bulova became licensees to produce their own versions of the Regency TR-4 (the previous, almost identical model, the TR-1 was the first transistor radio produced in the world). Regency was located in Indianapolis, In, and the Madison Industries Products Development Co., (Mantola), in nearby, Lawrence, IN proved a good licensee for Regency. The Mantola MD4 measures: 2-7/8 inches x 4-15/16 inches x 1-1/4 inches deep. The bright red body makes a striking appearance, highlighted by the smooth, satin silver dial with station numbers and an atomic symbol in matching red paint. The Mantola MD4 operates on a 9v battery. And when installed the radio tunes in stations loudly and clearly, but no warrantees that accompany this radio as to its functionality. There is one very small crack in the upper right back half (see image) if you can\'t make out the crack in the radio, its not the image, its that the crack is just not very visible. There is some wear on the radio body, but nothing that would be considered a flaw or defect. Over-all the radio is in fantastic condition.
