We have been selling for the past 12 years toys that came from the Marx toy warehouse that we bought in 1977 . These toys were at Marx from the 1940 -to 1977 . These toys are from the Marx Toy warehouses in Erie Pa.,and Glendale West Va. I will be selling other toys ,that Marx would buy to study,and copy. These toys are as found and were NEVER sold to the public,or stores. Iwill be listing some of the Prototypesthat are one off items. Here we have MARX O GAUGE HAND CARVED& HAND PAINTEDPROTOTYPE OF WIND UP STEAM ENGINE / A ONE OFFLOCOMOTIVE . This engine was one that Marx Toy Co . sent to Sotheby\'s in New York City sale in 1978. Marx retained a few toys that I could not buy in 1977 at the warehouse .My Father and I worked for the B&O railroad and I was going to have this Engine . I now am going to sell. I stated before I want to share some of these great toys with the people who like them as I have . ThisEnginewasFROM MARX SAMPLE R&D ERIE PA.Ibelieve this started out as a production Loco but was molded into the streamline look that it has . If you look close to the photos you can see where they re-worked it. Then it was all Hand Painted in what I call Toy blue . I am not sure but I thoughtB&O blue was All darker . Notice the # S304 is very small on the side of the Loco! This setis Model # 1306 built on 10-20-48 Girard Pa. Drawer 25 . The tender is production and Hand Painted to Match the Loco. It does not get any better than this . This car has been on displayed at my home since 1979 . I even hate to sell them but Its time to share some of the rare Marx toys with other collectors , so here your chance.This wasNEVER SOLD to the public .Take time to see the others I have listed ,some are veryuncommon or rare.
