Matti Hyvarinen for Sirokoru and dating from 1976, Finland.This has an amazingly sleek and tactile design,
with a smoothly polished bangle forming the watch strap.The watch case is held by futuristic “mountain” elements
- the structured surfaces creating an interesting contrast
to the watch case’s neat, rectangular shape.The dial is of a shimmering, silver white colour
with indicated numerals and watch hands in jet black.The watch runs smoothly and accurately,
keeping time for approximately 42 hours.The latch clasp closes neatly (two options)
and securely and is invisible when worn.A seldom offered and very attractive 70’s wristwatch,
with a comfortable and flattering fit.Excellently crafted and detailed work - it would be a memorable gift
(it won’t be long until Christmas ;)) and a fine addition to a vintage collection!Size (including watch case): 5.9 x 5 x 1.7 cm (2.32 x 1.97 x 0.67 inches)The watch casing (without winder) measures 2 x 1.7 cm (0.79 x 0.67 inches)
and the bangle has a width of 1.4 cm (0.55 inches).Wearable size/inner circumference: 15.5 cm (6.1 inches)
Petite size, more suitable for a slender wrist!Hallmarked: 935, designer’s mark M J H (Matti Hyvarinen),
town mark for Turku, Y7 (1976), maker’s mark SIROKORU, FINLANDThe bangle itself may possibly be silver plated at the hinge,(which seems to be of a different metal - for stability reasons ?)
as it shows a tiny area of wear - please see last photo.Weight: 38.9 g (1.372 oz)Condition: this is in very good, ready to wear condition,
with only slight signs of use, commensurate with age.Very, very tiny nicks and faint surface scratches
to the silver but no damage, dents or dings.The glass has a very small scratch, but
this is invisible when the watch is worn.It has been gently polished with a soft cloth and retains it’s lovely patina.
