Mid C19th Miniature Sewing Machine Original Fitted Mahogany Case Key Paris c1860:
$3310.00

You are viewing a lovely antique miniature sewing machine. From the style and the mahogany fitted case, I would estimate it was made some time between 1850 and 1875. It is signed what looks like \"G. Garoff\", although its hard to make out the last letter, and the word, \"Paris\".The unusual paint work on the machine appears to be original, as does the fitted mahogany case with beautiful dove-tailing carpentry and what looks like its original steel key. The machine measures approximately 10 1/2 inches at the longest point (to the tip of the crank handle) and is approximately 7 inches wide (not including the threaded clamp which screws into the underside of the machine). The case measures approximately 8 1/2 inches tall by 11 1/4 inches long by 6 1/2 inches deep. The condition appears to me to be pretty good. That said, I don\'t know if the machine is missing some small parts, so I am selling it \"as is\". The needle assembly goes up and down when the flywheel is cranked. Some of the springs should probably be replaced. Otherwise some rust spots on the body of the machine; the main shaft is rusty as is the arm which holds the thread bobbin. The case has some finish issues with what looks like water-based varnish; otherwise no splits or holes in the box. Minor wear and tear on both machine and case from handling over time. Shipping for this fairly heavy item will be $65 internationally from the U.K. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions. Thank you, your business is appreciated.

Measurements on the machine should read 7 inches tall; not 7 inches wide! Widest width at the base is approximately 3 1/4 inches. Diameter of the circular hand crank wheel is approximately 4 1/4 inches. The machine is made from cast iron with some brass bits.
