Here's an early and immaculate Henry Park whole plate camera. The camera comes with its original lens (it's huge), and its original leather lens cap. Park worked for Patrick Meagher early in his career, and the influence can be seen in the camera's elegant side-wing. He also worked for George Hare, another pioneer in camera manufacturing and design. So the pedigree is difficult to top. In fact, I think it's safe to say that in pretty much all respects antique English cameras don't get much nicer than this one.Condition of the camera is near mint throughout. Supple maroon leather bellows, polished mahogany body that retains its original finish, clear lens elements with no delamination and no fungus; excellent original brass hardware with a beautiful patina and no corrosion, a pristine original ground glass back, etc. Rack and pinion focusing gear moves easily, wood joints are all tight, hardware is pristine, everything is working properly. A nearly perfect early English tailboard camera that needs nothing except a foot or so of shelf space.With tailboard down, the camera measures approximately 17" x 12" x 11". Ground glass measures approx. 8 1/2" x 6 1/2". Lens barrel is approximately 4" long. Shipping weight, properly packed, will be about 20 lb.That's about it.
