I tested the motor by putting in 6 AA batteries, unlocking the camera and pulling the trigger. The motor works. Also the battery compartment looks completely clean. No sign of any corrosion.

I went through a check list on all the cameras that an expert helpfully provided. The motor runs at all speeds. Battery compartments are clean. There are no visible imperfections of any kind. All the knobs turn smoothly. Lenses are free of any scratches.
