You’ll be hard pressed tofind a nicer example of this all time Crosley classic. An absolutely stunning 1935Crosley model 515 mini tombstone radio featuring a beautifulAmerican walnutcabinet, bright backlit dial, waterfall top, pillared sides,andoutstanding performance.

Cabinet:The mini tombstonecabinet is a real stunner. This is the rare early version of their model 515 cabinet, and in my opinion, much nicer than the later version. Beautifulwood grain flows throughout the entire set with eye catching pillared sides, and a stylish waterfall top. A large Art Deco grill not only looks great butallows for optimal sound from the speaker. Dark walnuttrim adds the perfect contrast to finish the cabinet off with the utmost elegance and style. Thisseldom seenbeautyis sure to be the main attraction of any room in the home or office youchoose to display it in.

Dial/Knobs:The bright backlit dial is quite the attention getter.It features an ivory background with black numbers and letters. The center artwork is an arching radio tower between two world globes. The moon and stars areto the left of the tower, the sun to the right, and the arching Crosley logo ontop. Very cool! All numbers, letters, and graphics are legible and show verylittle signs of wear. All four knobs are perfect and control the following: high/lowtone, on/off & volume, tuning, and band switch.

Electronics/Chassis: All tubes in the 5 tube chassis were tested with any weak tubes being replaced. All caps, filters, and resistors were checked and replaced as needed. All brittle or bare wiring was replaced or re-insulated. The chassis has been cleaned, lubed, and re-aligned for optimal performance. With the included copper line antenna the radio performs very well on the AM broadcast band. I\'m able to receive many stations, near and far, withgreat tone and plenty of volume.I\'m also able to receive quite a few stations on the small shortwave scale, especially at night.

The Cabinet’s Finish & Restoration Process: Our Radio cabinets undergo avigorous restoration process. Our goal is to maintain the natural beauty of thewood and grain, while providing a deep luster and shine. We achieve this byremoving all the old and worn lacquers and stains. We then sand the cabinetwith fine grit pads down to the original bare wood. Nicks, chips, and blemishesare filled and/or blended. Any loose veneer is re-secured. We make sure any fillerapplied or repairs made are blended nicely and do not detract from the beautyof the set unless otherwise noted. New stains and sealers are applied by hand.We continue by using many coats of Mohawk brand lacquers and toners applied inthe same manner as when the radio was originally finished in the factory. Weuse a nitrocellulose piano lacquer which is applied through a professional HVLPturbine spray system in a climate controlled room. Nitrocellulose lacquer isvery thin. We also apply very thin coats. This allows the lacquer to seep intothe grain and not cover it up. A fine grit wet sanding follows every third coatalong with a polishing process and ending with an Oz glaze rub. Many hours ofwork are put into the radios, but as you can see, the final outcome is abeautiful, natural looking cabinet with gorgeous luster& shine. Our radiosare accurately described and in working order when shipped out. In rareinstances however, as with any vintage electronics, minor problems can occurduring shipment due to the age and delicacy of antique radio parts. If yourradio arrives and does not work please let us know. We will gladly walk youthrough the process of troubleshooting to get it started. If that fails tocorrect the problem we will pay for return shipping to us, diagnose and fix theproblem, and return the radio to you. We also offer a 30 day warranty on all the tubes, capacitors,resistors, and filters. Due to the design of some antique radio parts we cannotwarranty transformers, coils, tuners, and speakers. However, if at any timethese parts would happen to fail, we will assist in repairing or replacing thedefective part at minimal cost. Finally, in very rare instances, ifthere is shippingdamage aUSPS insurance claim request must be made to me from the buyer immediately uponreceipt of the radio. A USPS inspection of the radio, boxes, and all packingmaterials is required. The refund will be issued upon USPS approval and paymentof the insurance claim.
