Here we have an absolutelystunning 1937 Howard model 275 tombstone radio featuring a gorgeous dark walnutcabinet, attractive multi colored dial, bright green magic tuning eye, andoutstanding performance across the AM broadcast and shortwave bands.

Cabinet: The dark walnut cabinet issimply stunning with aneye catching waterfall top and beautiful wood grainflowing throughout the entire set. A large Art Deco grill not only looks great butallows for optimal sound from the speaker. It all comes together magnificently whenpowered up and the multi colored dial comes to life along with the new brightgreen magic tuning eye. Quite an impressive sight! Dark walnut tones and jetblack trim finish the cabinet off perfectly. This beauty is sure to be the mainattraction in any room of the home or office you choose to display it in.

Dial/Knobs:Howard’s oval shaped dial is a real stunner! It isilluminated by two dial lamps and features an array of colors from black andwhite to green and red. Located at the top of the dial is a bright green magictuning eye. What an impressive sight! The dial glass itself free from anychips, cracks, or breaks and displays the colored dial scales beautifully withvery little wear. The surrounding gold escutcheon adds an elegant touch. Allfour knobs are in great shape and control the following; volume, band switch,tuning, and tone.

Electronics/Chassis: All tubes in the6 (including eye)tube chassis were tested with any weak tubes being replaced. All caps, filters, and resistors were checked and replaced as needed. All brittle or bare wiring was replaced or re-insulated. The chassis has been cleaned, lubed, and re-aligned for optimal performance. With the included copper line antenna the radio performsexceptionally well on the AM broadcast and shortwave bands. I am able to pick up many stations, near and far, with sensitive reception, deep richtone, and plenty of volume.

The Cabinet’s Finish & Restoration Process: Our Radio cabinets undergo avigorous restoration process. Our goal is to maintain the natural beauty of thewood and grain, while providing a deep luster and shine. We achieve this byremoving all the old and worn lacquers and stains. We then sand the cabinetwith fine grit pads down to the original bare wood. Nicks, chips, and blemishesare filled and/or blended. Any loose veneer is re-secured. We make sure any fillerapplied or repairs made are blended nicely and do not detract from the beautyof the set unless otherwise noted. New stains and sealers are applied by hand.We continue by using many coats of Mohawk brand lacquers and toners applied inthe same manner as when the radio was originally finished in the factory. Weuse a nitrocellulose piano lacquer which is applied through a professional HVLPturbine spray system in a climate controlled room. Nitrocellulose lacquer isvery thin. We also apply very thin coats. This allows the lacquer to seep intothe grain and not cover it up. A fine grit wet sanding follows every third coatalong with a polishing process and ending with an Oz glaze rub. Many hours ofwork are put into the radios, but as you can see, the final outcome is abeautiful, natural looking cabinet with gorgeous luster& shine. Policies / Warranty: Weoffer a 14 day money back guarantee (buyer pays return shipping withprofessional packing) if the radio has been grossly misrepresented. Our radiosare accurately described and in working order when shipped out. In rareinstances however, as with any vintage electronics, minor problems can occurduring shipment due to the age and delicacy of antique radio parts. If yourradio arrives and does not work please let us know. We will gladly walk youthrough the process of troubleshooting to get it started. If that fails tocorrect the problem we will pay for return shipping to us, diagnose and fix theproblem, and return the radio to you. We also offer a 30 day warranty on all the tubes, capacitors,resistors, and filters. Due to the design of some antique radio parts we cannotwarranty transformers, coils, tuners, and speakers. However, if at any timethese parts would happen to fail, we will assist in repairing or replacing thedefective part at minimal cost. Finally, in very rare instances, ifthere is shippingdamage aUSPS insurance claim request must be made to me from the buyer immediately uponreceipt of the radio. A USPS inspection of the radio, boxes, and all packingmaterials is required. The refund will be issued upon USPS approval and paymentof the insurance claim.
