Here we have the Cadillac of Zenith\'s 1941 line of table radios. And you\'ll be hard pressed to find a nicer example. This highly sought after model 7-S-633 features a gorgeous dark walnut cabinet, largeand brightblack dial, wrap around grill, numerous tone controls & automatic tuning, loop antenna and outstanding performance from the powerful 7 tube chassison both the AM broadcast and shortwave bands.

Cabinet: The dark walnut cabinet is a real beauty. Solid construction and an eye appealing design that Zenith was sofamous for capturing.Gorgeous wood grain flows throughout the entire set. A large wrap around grill adds to the Art Deco appeal while allowing for optimal sound from the speaker. It all comes together magnificently with the impressive black dial surrounded by all the push/pull controls and gold escutcheon. Jet black trim and dark walnut tones finish the cabinet off with elegance and style. Thismasterpieceis sure to turn heads no matter which room in the home or office you choose to display it in.

Dial:Just look at the spectacular black dial surrounded by numerous tone and automatic tuning controls. Quite the eye catcher! It is illuminated by two new dial lamps and displays all the station frequencies for three bands (AM broadcast and two shortwaves), as well as foreign country names for shortwave reference. White arrow indicators, located on the bottom of the dial, let you know which band you are currently listening to. All numbers and letters on the dial are legible and show very little signs of wear. A large gold escutcheon surrounds the dial and houses various tone controls to the right, as well as automatic tuning pushbuttons on the left.The dial glass is clear and free from any chips, breaks, or cracks. All knobs are in great shape and work as follows: band switch, manual tuning and on/off & volume. If you plan on using the automatic tuning you will need to preset the pushbuttons to your local stations.

Grill Cloth: The 1930’s style grill cloth is a fine reproductionfeaturingablack andgold color withan Art Decoleaf/wavedesign. This grillcloth can also be purchased separately on our other sales.

Chassis: All tubes in thepowerful7 tube chassis were testedwith any weak tubes being replaced. All caps, filters, and resistors werechecked and replaced as needed. All brittle or bare wiring was replaced orre-insulated. The chassis has been cleaned, lubed, and re-aligned for optimalperformance.Using justthe loop antenna the radio performsexceptionally well. I\'m able to pick upmany stations, near and far, up and down the dial on both the AMbroadcast and shortwave bands. The set provides deep rich tone and room filling volume. Additional copper line antenna will be included for additional shortwave reception, especially at night.

The Cabinet’s Finish and Restoration Process: Our Radio cabinetsundergo a vigorous restoration process. Our goal is to maintain the naturalbeauty of the wood and grain, while providing a deep luster and shine. Weachieve this by removing all the old and worn lacquers and stains. We then sandthe cabinet with fine grit pads down to the original bare wood. Nicks, chips, andblemishes are filled and/or blended. Any loose veneer is re-secured. We makesure any filler applied or repairs made are blended nicely and do not detractfrom the beauty of the set unless otherwise noted. New stains and sealers areapplied by hand. We continue by using many coats of Mohawk brand lacquers andtoners applied in the same manner as when the radio was originally finished inthe factory. We use a nitrocellulose piano lacquer which is applied through aprofessional HVLP turbine spray system in a climate controlled room.Nitrocellulose lacquer is very thin. We also apply very thin coats. This allowsthe lacquer to seep into the grain and not cover it up. A fine grit wet sandingfollows every third coat along with a polishing process and ending with an Ozglaze rub. During the restoration process on this radio a small veneer repair was made on the middle grill bar. It has been secured, blended and is nothing that detracts from the beauty of the set. Many hours of work are put into the radios, but as you can see, thefinal outcome is a beautiful, natural looking cabinet with gorgeous luster&shine. Policies / Warranty: We offer a 14 day money backguarantee (buyer pays return shipping with professional packing) if the radiohas been grossly misrepresented. Our radios are accurately described and inworking order when shipped out. In rare instances however, as with any vintageelectronics, minor problems can occur during shipment due to the age anddelicacy of antique radio parts. If your radio arrives and does not work pleaselet us know. We will gladly walk you through the process of troubleshooting toget it started. If that fails to correct the problem we will pay for returnshipping to us, diagnose and fix the problem, and return the radio to you. Wealso offer a 30 day warranty on all the tubes,capacitors, resistors, and filters. Due to the design of some antique radioparts we cannot warranty transformers, coils, tuners, and speakers. However, ifat any time these parts would happen to fail, we will assist in repairing orreplacing the defective part at minimal cost. Finally, in very rareinstances, if there is shippingdamagea USPS insurance claim request must be made tome from the buyer immediately upon receipt of the radio. A USPS inspection ofthe radio, boxes, and all packing materials is required. The refund will beissued upon USPS approval and payment of the insurance claim.
