Size: The blade is approximately 17\", with an overall length of approximately 21-3/4\", an muzzle ring diameter of approximately 0.655\".
Description: Up for sale is an original Sanderson Bros.WWI, British sword bayonet and leather sheath, designed for the .303 Caliber Short, Magazine, Lee-Enfield No. I Mk. III (SMLE) rifle. The steel sword bayonet blade has a modified straight back point, a blood groove on both sides that extends from the prima to the beginning of the quarta, bird head shape pommel, wood grips, and steel crossguard. The leather sheath has a round frog stud, which was approve in 1915. The pattern 1907 sword bayonet is widely recognized as the bayonet used with the SMLE in both the First World War and World War II.
Condition: This original Pattern 1907 sword bayonet and leather sheath is in “Good” to “Very Good” condition. Thereare no major damages, losses or worn materials.Please see our photographs for further details, and check out ourresponse and other items.
