This artifact was recovered from The Historic Winchester Battlefield in Virginia.2nd Winchester was fought June 13 &14th and is considered part of the Gettysburg Campaign. 3rd Winchester was September 19, 1864 and was part of the Valley campaign. The 3rd Winchester saw one of the most famous cavalry charges in the Civil War. This relic was recovered about 50 or 60 years ago on what was at that time private property.It is 100% guaranteed to be authentic and legal to own. This is an earlier recovery when relics were in better condition than modern recoveries. A very historic battlefield and excellent relic from Winchester Virginia.
