An outstanding Gilbert Rohde designed clock for Herman Miller circa 1933. This beautiful clock features a deep cobalt blue mirror face punctuated by 12 gleaming chrome hour balls and aluminum or nickel minimalist hour and minute hands. The second hand is red. The base is brushed chrome, we believe. Except for the alarm dial, the back is all painted black enamel. This clock is not marked Herman Miller or Gilbert Rohde, but is a well recognized example of his work.The lasttwo pictures are from the book AMERICAN MODERN and show an example of this clockwith the description \"Gilbert Rohde. ElectricClock.c.1933. An example of this clock was shown in the 1934 \'Machine Art\' exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art, New York.\" All of the adjusting knobs and hardware are original. The clock has been rewired. To run, this clock must be \"spin started\" with one of the knobs on the back. The clock has a label on its base where it was likely purchased and a similar label on the top of the movement where it was likely serviced at some point.The clock measures about 6 1/2\" tall. This item will be double boxed and insured.

Condition: Overall Excellent with no damage to the glass or metal parts.The clock runs accurately and with little noise. The alarm works well. The rich cobalt blue mirror face still looks amazing and is without any damage.Each of the aluminum hands has a wear-likemark.There is some black enamel wear on the back side. Overall, an outstanding example.
