Original U.S. US Army WWII M3 K.1 Trench \"Fighting\" Knife Leather Sheath M6 For Sale

Model / Type /Description: Up for sale is an original issue U.S. Army WWII 1943 Military issue trench \"Fighting\" knife and fiberglass scabbard. The knife is marked on the inside crossguard with \"U.S. M3 / K.1\". The OD green scabbard is marked below the mouthpiece with \"U.S. M8 / B.M.Co.\". The pommel is a metal, flat disc with a starburst pattern metal spike that attaches the pommel to the handle. The handle is composed of a series of round compressed leather rings, when put together it forms peaks and valleys that enhance the gripping ability. The steel crossguard has a portion that is straight and the other side is bent downward. The blade is double edge halfway from the tip. Adapted by the U.S. Army early in 1943, it was produced from March of that year until July 1944. But it had already been replaced by the M4 bayonet-knife in the Spring of 1944. The original intent of the M3 was to arm all soldier with a knife who wouldn\'t normally be issued a bayonet, so basically anybody not carrying an M1 or M1903 rifle qualified for one.

Condition: This trench knife is in \"Good\" to \"Very Good\" condition. There are no major damages, losses orworn materials. Please see ourphotographs for further details, and check out our response and other items.
