An outstandinglybeautiful English black glass wine bottle of 'mallet' form with conical body and long tapering neck;a disc-shaped string rim just below the neck and a sand-pontil mark on the underside; George I period, circa 1715 - 1725.
THIS IS ONE COOLBOTTLE WITH GREAT PRESENCE!
This is a wonderful, fantastic looking bottle. It measures 7 1/2 inches tall and of classic proportions and agreat early date. The bottle has a wonderful soft surface sheen, a squat body of mallet shape, and a long elegant neck.
Condition-wise, there is some chipping to the string rim (seePhotos 5 and 6), a very faint 'star' on the shoulder (Photo #12). But these are insignificant negatives on what isreally a fantasticlooking bottle and one that would be a fine addition to any collection.
Thanks for offerding and good luck!
