Paillard-Bolex H-16 movie camera, trifocal viewfinder, Octameter, ca 1952, allleather H-1 case, booklets
Condition appears excellent overall, no exterior damage, good spring, running well in moviemode, good still capture, good continuous frame counting

Description:Paillard-Bolex H-16 movie camera, trifocal viewfinder, Octameter, ca 1952, allleather H-1 case, booklets, two of three Kern-Paillard lenses (telephotoabsent), Bolex trigger handle, 16mm film and spool, from Cape Cod area estate,as found and as pictured. At s#82762, this will be the single sprocket type, accepting both 1R and 2R film, according to the indispensable commercial website,BolexCollector. There is still 16mm film in the camera.

Bolex offered any number of exceptional telephotolenses as optional equipment, so the absence of the standard variety on thisexample leaves quite the choice to look for.

Condition:Examinedby yours truly, a specialist in antique and vintage watches since 1971, butknowing only basics about older cameras. Condition appears excellent overall, with no exterior damage, good winding of the spring, running well in moviemode, good still capture, good continuous frame counting with either function, goodthrough-lens view-finding with the two mounted lenses, clean opening andclosing, perfect lenses with screw-on caps, solid trigger-handle attachment, trigger operating flawlessly. The case is rugged, but there is some splittingof the stitching, mild warping of the leather and dividers, the key lacking, leaving the lock-plate locked, and the locking tab separated from its cover; inother words, one cannot lock the case down until another key is found and thelock-plate halves coupled back together. Otherwise, handle and strap are sound, with the mounting hardware showing some rust or verdigris.
