Pair ofwhat appears to be antique Russian 84 kokoshnik silver candlesticks measuring about 13 inches and weighing 27.925 troy ounces and 23.940 troy ounces each including wax imbedded in top section. If these are real then proof that even a blind squirrel can find a nut, because I thought they were silver plate. In overall poor shape with numerous condition issues and the distinct possibility they really are silver plate with fake spurious apocryphal Russian 84 Kokoshnik marks. Please do not offer unless you:
Know Silver
Know Russian Silver
Know the difference between fake and real Russian Silver
Know a silver restorer.
If you meet all the above criteria then you might very well workin the Silver Department at the Hermitage in St. Petersburg. I watched a special on Russia Today about the army of cats purposely kept in the Hermitage basement. What\'s not to love about amuseum that provides veterinary and grooming services for stray cats in exchange for catching mice and protectingpriceless national treasures?
Offered as is,bearing the above photographed marks, in bent crooked condition with the overall weight affected by the presence of wax. I have done nothing to them and are from a local estate. Please do not hesitate to inquire or schedule a private viewing. Sold sale only with and free domestic shipping. I use the Global Shipping program for international sales and list other silver and antiques almost daily as time permits so please consider:
