Pink Floyd \"The Wall\" Feature Film 35mm :
$2035.00

Full Feature 35mm Film. Title \"The Wall\". 5 reels. We did a bench check and reels 1 2 and 3 appear fine. Reels 4 and 5 to seem to have gotten minor water damage to the beginnings of each reel from the beginning to about 10 feet of film. Other than that, the film appears undamaged and very useable, but you\'re buying As-Is. The 10 feet of damaged film will probably be overrun anyway, and might not show any damage to viewing. There are 3 reels in one metal case, and 2 full reels and one empty reel in the second case. They have been kept in metal cases for all these years, and stored. Due to the nature of this sale, it is an as-is, as-stated sale. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to have your own 35mm full feature film of one of the greatest Rock and Roll Movies Ever Produced! One case with reels one two and three is 45 lbs and the second case with the last two reels is 35 lbs. So you will have to email me after sale ends for final shipping costs. This was a gift to my friend who used to be the maintenance man at all the theaters in the area. He is the one that inspected it for this sale, and knows what he is talking about. Pink Floyd – The Wallis a 1982 filmdirected byAlan Parkerwith animated segments bypolitical cartoonistGerald Scarfe, and is based on the 1979Pink Floydalbum of the same name. The film centers around a confined rocker named Floyd \"Pink\" Pinkerton who, after being driven into insanity by the death of his father and many depressive moments during his lifetime, constructs a metaphorical (and sometimes physical) wall to be protected from the world and emotional situations around him. When this coping mechanism backfires he demands himself free. The screenplay was written by Pink Floyd vocalist and bassistRoger Waters.

Like its musical companion, the film is highlymetaphoricaland symbolicimageryand sound are present most commonly. However, the film is mostly driven by music, and does not feature muchdialogue. Gerald Scarfe drew and animated 15 minutes of animated sequences, which appear at several points in the film. It was the seventh animated feature to be presented inDolby Stereo. The film is best known for its disturbingsurreal environment, animated sequences, violence and gore, sexual situations, characterization, and many more that caused it to be one of the most surreal musicals of all time. The film has since fared well generally, and has establishedcult status.

Plot[edit]

Pink, theprotagonist, is a rock star, one of several reasons behind his apparent depressive and detached emotional state. He is first seen in an unkempt hotel room, motionless and expressionless, watching television while theVera Lynnrecording of \"The Little Boy that Santa Claus Forgot\" plays. It is later revealed that Pink\'s father, a British soldier, was killed in actionwhile defending the Anzio bridgeheadduringWorld War II, in Pink\'s infancy.

In aflashback, Pink is a young English boy growing up in the early 1950s. Throughout his childhood, Pink longs for a father figure. Hediscovers a scrollfrom\"kind old King George\"and other relics from his father\'s military service and death. At school, he is humiliated for writing poems in class (the poem being Pink Floyd\'s \"Money\"). After the teacher reads the poem out loud, \"Another Brick in the WallPart 2\" is played, and children are shown in a surrealistically oppressive school system, falling into a meat grinder. The children then rise in rebellion and destroy the school, carrying the Teacher away to an unknown fate. Pink is also negatively affected by hisoverprotective mother. Such traumatic experiences are represented as \"bricks\" in the metaphorical wall he constructs around himself that divides him from society.

As an adult, Pink eventually marries, but he and his wife soon grow apart. While he is in the United States on tour, Pink learns that his wife is having an affair. He turns to a willinggroupie, who he brings back to his hotel room only to trash it in a fit of violence, terrifying the groupie out of the apartment.

Pink slowly begins to lose his mind to metaphorical \"worms\". He shaves all his body hair and, while watchingThe Dam Busterson television, morphs into aneo-Nazialter-ego. Pink\'s manager, along with the hotel manager and some paramedics, discover Pink unresponsive and inject him with drugs to enable him to perform.

Pink fantasises that he is a dictator and his concert is a neo-Nazi rally. His followers proceed to attack ethnic minorities, and Pink holds a rally in suburban London, singing \"Waiting for the Worms\". The scene is intercut with images of animated marching hammers thatgoose-stepacross ruins. Pink screams \"Stop!\" and takes refuge in the toilets at the concert venue, reciting poems.

In a climactic animated sequence, Pink, depicted as a small, almost inanimate rag doll, ison trial, and his sentence is \"to be exposed before [his] peers.\" The judge gives the order to \"tear down the wall\". Following a prolonged silence, the wall is smashed.

Several children are seen cleaning up a pile of debris after an earlier riot, with a freeze-frame on one of the children emptying aMolotov cocktail.

As you can see from the pictures, the film is starting to fade to a somewhat light \"sepia\" color on much of the footage. Also, on reel four, the water damage is on 3-5 frames per turn, and extends to about a minute or two of the film. On reel five, the damage extends to about 3 to four minutes of the film. It is a bit more extensive. What can be done, I don\'t know as I am not a film aficionado. I just wanted to give you a look at the pics and damage. So if you don\'t want the movie, it\'s ok. If you do, these are the findings.

First off, it in technicolor. The color is fading to a Sepia mode. I took some pics and posted them. Please check them out. the metal reels need replaced as they are bent up around the edges.Reel four has damage to about the first 2 or 3 minutes of the film.Reel five has damage to about the first 4 or 5 minutes. There is no smell.

I added the second revision because the first one didn\'t show up at first. I also added more time to the damaged reels, just to cover in case a bad frame shows up down the line......they are both actually exaggerated. I don\'t believe there is more than a minute on reel 4 and 2 minutes on 5. But not sure. thanx
