Most audiophiles would agree that the SX1250 is the best vintage receiver Pioneer ever produced. Yes, the SX1280 and SX1980 are more powerful, but considering the build quality and the availability of parts (try getting outputs for a 1980), the 1250 is the one to get I blew some of the dust out of this with an air compressor and now it doesn\'t produce sound. I\'m not sure if I dislodged a connector or a fuse, but it did a work couple of months ago. Because of a move, I just don\'t have the time to play with it and it shou;d have been saleed weeks ago. Someone is going to get a good deal on this.
So the good -
Faceplate, glass, and lettering are clear and scratch free.All switchgear and knobs have a quality feel.Wood cabinet has a few nicks, but good overall.No dents anywhere on the metal cabinet or cooling fins.Unit is very clean.
The Bad -
Again, no sound.The right side front wood has a dent (check pic).This is a heavy bastard but I have the perfect box for shipping or you\'re more than welcome to pick it up in Northern NJ. I am very good at packing, so you will get it to you safely.
