HISTORY BEHIND THIS ARTWORK

This masterpiece of pop art involved a massive collaboration of 69 of the greatest comic artists of all time.A unified effort of such varied talents will most likely never happen due to vast number of corporate copyrights that were waved for this charity’s sake.

The brain child of Phil Lerner, a Swampscott, MA fund raising guru and Paul Burke of Stabur Publishing, the poster was created for a fund raising effort to benefit the Child\'s Welfare League of America. There was some 10 million dollars of licensing fees waived by the Comic BookSyndicates and Cartoon Production Studios as well as all art work donated at no charge by the Cartoon artists.

Stabur Graphics publishing house also produced the \"Cartoonists Constitution\" poster, There was a second collaboration cartoonist charity focus effort to raise funds for the American Cartoonists Museum. The Voice for Children piece I believe is far superior piece I believe though

The effort to design and manufacture these posters wasmajor and the original art work during its creation and finally signature series traveled over170,000 miles to 69 artists in 42 cities for their 172superheroes,animation characters, newspaperfunnies characters, comic book and cartooncharacters, and celebrities.

As a cross collecting bonus,Ronald Reagan and his wife are showcased in the center.Original paperwork thatI possess shows Superman and Wonder Woman gracing the center of the original design but there was a DC Comics dispute so they were omitted, leaving room for our leader and the First Lady. Also, lost in the DC dispute were Batman, Robin and the Green Lantern. On the bright side, a positive gain of Mickey Mouse & Donald Duck did occur.

This art work features the greatest number of licenses granted for one original art work and the greatest number of cartoonists participating on one original art work. Also, the first licensed appearances of Walt Disney and Walter Lantz characters on the same artwork.

With its variety, along with great composition, you can spend quite a time just examining each scene of the piece which is essentially represents an \"orchestra andchoir\" of characters singing all togetherforthe welfare of children...hence the art work\'s name \"VOICE FOR CHILDREN\" The art work is clear and concise and you can have nice time just reading the autographs reproduced on the bottom and matching them with the work each man created in the art work.
