Very good condition and guaranteed original pre Civil WarAmerican militia officer sword. Manufactured under contract in Germany and ismaker marked “S & K” on the right side of the blade for production bySchnitzler & Kirschbaum. 30 ¼” curved blade has beautiful fire bluefinished panels with gold accents and original engraving. Designs include birdsand leaves. Remaining metal finish is original bright turning brown and gray. Remainingbrass fittings have nice mellow color. Wood grip has original finish and a fewchips by the pommel. Fitted in correct original leather scabbard that has brassfittings and is in fair condition. Missing about the lower third. Leather issoft and supple with some wear and flaking. A beautiful American militiaofficer sword that will make an excellent addition to your collection.
