Very good condition original pre WWI JapaneseMeiji era brass handled artillery short sword. Right side of blade hasbeautiful Tokyo Arsenal kanji markings and is dated Meiji 19 for 1880, thefirst year of production. 21 ¼” blade has nice original bright finish with alittle scattered gray. Brass handle has nice looking patina. No scabbard. Anice example of a rare early Japanese military sword that will make anexcellent addition to your collection.
