One of the greatest things about this antenna design is that absolutely no ground connection is required for excellent performance. I know what you are thinking, youmust havea ground or counterpoisefor an antenna to work. Well, I thought the same thing until I spend time in the field testing this design. We used it both with and without a ground and counterpoise and in both instances it worked great.
I did however design a ground connection into the matching device just in case you want to add a ground or counterpoise. The ground/counterpoise connection is accessed via the green wing nut on the side of the matching unit. Simply attach your wire to the ground connection and tighten the green wing nut.
This antenna can be hung in many different configurations. It can be hung as a sloper, an inverted L, hung in a straight line, zig-zagged, vertical, horizontal, etc. etc.
Antenna polarization is determined by yourinstallation. Vertical, horizontal, or both can be accomplished.
By requiring no ground connection this antenna is just about the easiest antenna to install that I have ever used. Simplyconnect your coax to the matching unit. Attach the end of the antenna wire to a high supportand you are ready to get on the air and make contacts.
If you live in an apartment then this antenna will allow you to get on the air with little effort and no one will even know that you are on the air.

I can state for certain is that thisdesign outperformed my expectations. It is a very good antenna andit receiveswell and transmits equally as well.
We build these antennasourselves and take pride inour workmanship.We have built many, manyantennas over the years with no problems at all. The antenna wire is 14 gauge pure stranded copper that is quite flexible. The wire is double insulated andu.v. protected.We have used this type of wire for many years and it holds up quite well. One ofour antennas has been up over 20 years now and still no breaks in the insulation. Even though insulated wire is more expensive,we use it because foliage will not detune the SWR on the insulated wire.
