RARE Antique 1893 World\'s Columbian Exposition Medal Plaque from a Born Steel Range. This metal range plaque is in good condition with a few flecks of silver paint missing. The back has some rust. The back is marked with: 109. It measures 8 1/2\" wide, 3 1/4\" high & 1/2\" deep. It is made of metal & weighs almost one pound. In the center is says: The World\'s Columbian Exposition Medal 1893. On the left is an image of Christopher Columbus & on the right it says that it\'s to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Columbus\' landing in the New World in 1492. Below that it says: Born Range CO. This was probably a plaque from the front of a Born Steel Range that they had displayed at the 1893 World\'s Columbian Exposition. Born Steel Range originally started in Cleveland, Ohio as a small retail store manufacturer, the French Steel Range Co. In 1890 it became the Born Steel Range & Manufacturing Company & moved to Galion, Ohio. In 1898 they moved back to Cleveland. It\'s a very rare & unusual Born range plaque from the 1893 World\'s Columbian Exposition & a must have for any world\'s fair or appliance advertising collector. You won\'t find another one like it in this condition.
