RARE 1900s Antique VTG ORIG Westinghouse 80421 Tank Motor 12\" Brass Blade Fan :
$371.00

Beautiful fan. Appears to be in excellent shape, however after buying and plugging in the fan will not completely. I opened up the bottom and looked in back where motor is and everything is there and looks fine. The motor spins freely, and when plugged in it is lightly humming on all 3 speeds. When you take the cage off and spin the blade with some force it will work on the 3rd (fastest) speed and sometimes on the second and 1st depending. If you go from the 3rd speed while its spinning and take it to a lower speed it loses momentum and eventually stops spinning ( but will still lightly hum).. It looks to have been restored at some point \" Notice the new screws that are mounting the brass makers plaque. The whole fans exterior is in great condition, no cracks or chips anywhere. The Brass is clean looking, some finger prints but overall really nice. There is a new chord and appears to have been rewired along with the \"restoration\". I do not know much about fans so I can\'t really pinpoint the problem. Beautiful fan, complete with all parts, but doesn\'t run like it should. Hopefully a restorer can get his/her hands on it and give it the attention it needs. 12\" blades. See all photos, and please ask any questions. I am trying to describe everything so there are no surprises. Paypal payments.

On Jul-17-17 at 16:18:53 PDT, seller added the following information:

After looking into the fan a little further I realized that the screw that holds blade down onto the shaft coming out of motor ( The thing that spins the blade) is broken at the bottom. It is still holding the blade down somewhat but it is loose and not properly tightened. That should be replaced. It isn\'t holding down the blade completely to the shaft so even when the motor spins it isn\'t always connecting with the actual blade. I took the blade completely off and when turning the fan on with speed 3 if i give it a spin it runs fine (without blade) and can go do all of the different speeds afterwards. Still something that needs to be fixed, but something I need to add since noticing.
