For your consideration is this guaranteed authentic Queen Cola tin sign in original condition. Many companies in the teens and twenties tried to compete with and/or mimic the success of Coca-Cola which was emerging as the dominant player in soda fountain and bottled soft drinks. Queen Cola was probably the most blatant as they attempted to copy the Coke logo and colors; note the script style and ‘tail’ of the word ‘Cola’. This sign dates to the 1920’s (the cola, made by the Atlantic Beverage Corporation in Petersburg, Virginia, didn’t survive the depression) and is made of thin tin. The sign reads ‘Drink Queen Cola. It’s different and better’ (presumably different from and better than Coca Cola). Condition is very good. Edges are sharp. No tack holes. Very light rust in small areas. There are a number of small scratches, creases and one corner has minor corrosion but nothing to detract from the overall eye appeal and visual impact of the sign. Color is excellent with no fading. The Queen Cola words and the bottle are both embossed. Reverse is in excellent condition with no rust. This sign is not often seen and rarely in this good condition.
