The T1 has the distinction of being Siemens of Germany\'s (S.& Halske / S. Electrogeräte)first transistor radio.(Note there were two Siemens companies ~ one in Austria and one inGermany.)This is a very hard to find radio. It has a pretty design motit with uniformly rounded corners, which has earnedit the nicknameof the \"Soap Dish.\" It has a reverse painted tuning dial, similar to a couple of early Japanese sets like the Hitachi TH-621. TheT1isfeatured in a number of websites devoted to classic transistor radios, including:[link removed by ]and [link removed by ].
This example is inaverage cosmetic condition, with multiple issues:there is a crack at the top pry slot, common cracks on the speaker grill, plastic smudges, a chip on the earphone/external antenna jack, a cock-eyed tuning dial (which I could not dislodge), and some signs ofpry battery corrosion on the chassis. I was unable to get reception although the radio did crackle when I put battery in.
