Here we have a RARE Antique STANLEY No. 48 Cast Iron Framed, Walnut Stuffed, 12\" Level and Plumb. This level not marked with Stanley name or number (as I\'m told is typical) on the cast iron frame but is a definite match to this rarely seen level. Besides Walter\'s Stanley Guide book you can also see a picture of this in Don Rosebrook\'s book: \"American Levels and their Makers\" on page 152. This plumb & level is in very good condition with minor scratches and nicks in the wood and brass. The spirit Level bubble vial and the Plumb bubble vials are in excellent condition and are nice and clear. Both vials have nice brass escutcheon side view plates. No cracks, breaks or repairs. No owner\'s stamps.
