RARE Antique Vintage \"THE DEFENDER\" by the Schwartz Brothers - Copper & Brass Fire Extinguisher - Polished and Restored Enamel Paint
Believe it or not, Christmas is right around the corner and this would make a beautiful gift for any collectors. For your consideration this is a wonderful piece of fire fighting history. This is a \"The Defender\" Copper and Brass Fire Extinguisher that has been polished to a mirror finish with restored high gloss red and blue enamel paint . The pictures tell the true story of this beautiful antique piece of fire fighting history. This is a RARE extinguisher as it has a beautiful copper shell body with the original brass embossed plates. The original high gloss enamel paint for the brass embossed plates has also been restored as well. I have restored the original paint on the cap and the front brass plates with high gloss dark blue and red paint. Everything on this piece just shines and tells a fantastic story of fire fighting history. This will be a great centerpiece or conversation piece. DO NOT MISS OUT!!!!!!! This antique not only has the copper rivets along the back, it also has it along the top cap rim. The construction and serial number of this beautiful antique dates this extinguisher to the late 1910\'s.
The copper body and the rivets along the back side are in great condition with the exception of the bottom backside of the extinguisher. This antique experienced some corrosion from prior use and as a result, the copper has been distorted some. The hose and the brass connectors are in great condition, and I have polished the brass connectors to a mirror finish as well. The extinguisher measures 24\" tall with an 8 and 1/4\" diameter. With the exception of the bottom copper rivets, along the back seem, this antique is in good shape. You can tell from the photographs that this antique is in beautiful shape and it truly shines. You can literally see yourself in the copper body and the brass. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE look at the photographs, as they tell the true story of this antique. This antique dates back to the 1910\'s, based on its Underwriter Laboratories stamp and its unique rivet construction. Given this antique\'s age, the condition of this beauty is remarkable. This is a truly beautiful piece.
This beautiful piece was manufactured by the Schwartz Brothers, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. This is a wonderful piece of west coast fire fighting history. If you collect fire fighting history, steampunk, or Americana, do not miss out on this beautiful collector\'s piece. The extinguisher is EMPTY and the internal ingredients and contents have been removed. The top cap is easily unscrewed from this antique in case you wish to make additional alterations, such as modifying it into a lamp. The original ingredients have been removed and this antique is EMPTY!!!!
The bronze cap has been restored with the original high gloss dark blue enamel paint and is excellent condition as well. Please do not expect that this antique is in perfect condition, it is nearly 100 years old and was a piece of fire fighting equipment. It will naturally have some signs of wear and tear that comes with age. The back, along the bottom rivet area has some corrosion that occurred from prior use and it is in one of the pictures. This is not a REPOP PIECE and is an authentic piece of fire fighting history. LOOK AT THE PICTURES, AS THEY TELL THE TRUE STORY AS TO THE CONDITION OF THIS ANTIQUE.
Please, please, please look at the pictures. The pictures tell the true story of this beautiful antique. One of the pictures was taken with a flashso that you can see the color of the enamel paint that was restored to this antique. The extinguisher front has been polished and restored so that it looks like it did when it was created. This is a piece of fire fighting history that is nearly 100 years old. Please do not expect it to be in mint condition, it does have some small scratches.
