TheAsahiflex wasa truly \"Innovative\" camera. It was the Very First Japanese SLR andmore importantly, theVery First SLR with a fully Automatic reflex mirrror. The Mirror closure mechanism is \"coupled\" to the shutter. Asahi purchased the Zeiss Jena Patent in 1951. Because of this \"innovation\" it was responsible for the dominance of the SLR over the rangefider cameras! It was In fact a very practicaland small camera. It has the convenience ofbeing compactbut weighs a hefty 1 pound7.5 ounces making it very steady but stillincorporates many of the same advantages of much heavier and largerSLR cameras. Only about 800 cameras were produced and production commenced on the legendary Pentax. Making it today, a Very rare collectible. I have always kept the camera covered and well protected. I should mention that the camera was just completely CLA\'d by Eric Hendrickson \"Mr. Pentax\".
