Here is a beautiful early Los Angeles County California deputy sheriff\'s badge. It is two toned gold and nickel with the center disc and the walking bear riveted to the star. The lettering is hard fired blue enamel and there is a spring pin and fork catch on the back. I don\'t know if the S.S indicates a unit (Special Services?) or perhaps the deputy\'s initials. This is a VERY RARE and seldom seen style. There is what appears to be a smudge by the initials. Possibly plating wear or a bit of solder. Ask any questions before buying.
This badge is obsolete and complies with all rules and regulations in that it is of a style no longer in use, more than seventy five years old and/or from an organization that no longer exists. It is of historic value. It is offered as a collectible, intended for display purposes only, carries no police authority and does not resemble any current law enforcement badge.
