Up for sale is a beautiful, very hard-to-find individual gravy / sauce boat made for the Ford Motor Co. by Shenango China of New Castle, PA. Ford "SCRIPT" pattern. This pattern was used at Ford company cafeterias, at the 1933 Chicago Century of Progress World\'s Fair in the Ford Rotunda building which was re-assembled there and by Ford\'s Great Lakes Marine Division on their Great Lake steamships. Pattern is shown in Daniel Krummes book Dining on Inland Seas pg. 39.

Features green stripe / band and the "Ford" script top/side logo. Excellent near-mint/mint condition. Shows very little-to-no use. No chips, cracks or crazing. Super-Shiny glaze surface. Measures approx. 3 3/8" tall at handle end and approx. 6" long from handle to spout. Bottom stamped as shown in green with the Shenango China New Castle, Pa USA mark. Date coded J-17 which dates this vintage piece to 1959.

Shenango China of New Castle, Pennsylvania (no longer in business) was a major US supplier of heavy-weight commercial restaurant ware & topmarked logo china to railroads, steamships, hotels & diners and company cafeterias as well as all branches of the US Military. In the mid-1980\'s Shenango China was purchased by Syracuse China of Syracuse, NY. The New Castle, PA plant was closed & all operations moved to the Syracuse, NY factory.
