Rare SIX MAN Kinetic Sculpture Clock by G Bradt Kinetico Studios, 1976 ~ Runs:
$510.00

Original Gordon Bradt Kinetic Six Man Electric Clock ~ created in 1976

Sculpted from Brass ~ Runs Well and Keeps Time Accurately

Measures: 10\" tall, 7.25\" wide, 4.5\" depth. Weight: 2 lb. 12 oz. Electrical cordjust under 5 ft. in length.

This rare original Gordon Bradt motion clock isa beautiful work of kinetic sculpture created in 1976, but having a distinctive contemporarysteampunk appeal. It features intricately sculpted brass gears, coils, rods, and rings housed in an upright open framework and \"operated\" by six different small figurals. On the front is an openbrass chapter ring with linear hour markings and arrow-shaped minute and hour clock hands. As the clock runs various components exhibit motion including some of the gears, rods, most of the small figurals, and aturning circular element that extends up from thetop of the clock. There are four small feet on the bottom, all with protective vinyl tips. Attached tothe frontright upper corner of the clockis a round tag made from a penny. The reverse side of the coin has been brass-coated and etched with the artist\'s signature. The flip side of the tagreveals thecoin face showing the date 1976.

The clock runs on a synchronous 4-RPM timing motor (at 60 cycles), and the brass coils are geared to keep accurate time. Although some of the gears do not appear to be moving, they are actually making a complete rotation over a 12-hour period. The electrical cord features an inline on/off switch.

Condition: Clock functions well and keeps perfect time.It is inall original condition with no damage or repairs. There is some age-related dulling of the brass finish. The clock would definitely benefit from a professional cleaning as there isdust/debrisbuildup in the mechanisms. Its synchronous motor makes a low humming sound, and some of the moving parts create clicks during operation, factors that alsowould likelybe improved upon by a good cleaning. The electrical cord is in excellent condition.

PLEASE READ *** CORRECTION REGARDING CLOCK\'S DATE OF PRODUCTION***

At the time of listing this clock for sale it was my belief that the date on the penny tagrepresented the clock\'s year of creation. I have since been informed that, in fact, the penny date does notnecessarily reflect the year the clock was created. Furthermore, I am informed that Bradt began building these clocks around 1980 and began adding the pennysignature tags around 1986. Based on this information, the clock\'s date of creation would not beits penny date of 1976, but rather would be around the mid-1980\'s to 1990\'s.
