Absolutely vintage and authentic real photo postcard depicting the Hanging of Badland Charlie at Quinn South Dakota on June 14, 1908. The card is well preserved with light corner bumping and edge wear and displays some light foxing to verso. Card is divided back, postally unused with a Kruxo stamp area. On left border edge of verso is type, \" Blackhills, Badlands, Ranching, Homestead and Complete line of Western Views, Herman M Ricard Art Co. Murdo S.D. Send 15 cents for 6 Asst. Samples on Postcard\".
Oddly, I could find no mention of this particular hanging on the world wide web. The white spot on left edge is in the emulsion and the card was printed with this flaw and may have simply been a drop of liquid dropping onto the negative pre printing or on the print itself and was hastily ignored by the photographer in order to get a batch out of a rare hanging photograph. A nice image.
