The stove is a Universal Gas Range (1940s or early 1950s).Restaurants, theaters, movie prop masters, clothing stores: behold a very cool display!
- In New York, they\'re using vintage stoves as clothing displays (think: jeans stacked inside!).
Overall, excellent visual condition -- it has charisma!
Note: unless you are intending to restore this to ensure safety, or are mechanically inclined, my suggestion would be to use it as a prop, perhaps in a restaurant, as an eye-catching display for menus: antique, retro, vintage or eclectic. * Universal Stove was bought by Cribben & Sexton.
* sale is only for the WHITE stove.
* The range does have a safety but, I suggest using this as a display.
* If you intend to repair it, this is what I know: * The stovetop burners do work, though I was told one of the burners may need a new control gas valve soon. * The oven pilot does not light -- it may need a new oven pilot assembly. * And lastly, the drip trays need to be appropriately coated or enameled if they are to be used for cooking. The person who sold it to me simply primed them with a paint. Inappropriate.Ask questions before offerding.
