Rare Roger Capron Vallauris Split Vase in multi-color stripe pajamas pattern. The vase stands 12-1/2 inches tall. The top opening is just over 5-1/4 inches wide and the bottom is 3-1/2 inches wide. The vase is pierced/split internally/externally with a small opening approximately 4 inches up from the bottom. There is one small flea bite (pictured) on the lip of the vase. An excellent example for Capron collectors. Roger Capron (1922-2006), was born in Vincennes, France. He studied at Applied Arts in Paris from 1939 to 1943 and worked as an art teacher in 1945. In 1946, he moved to Vallauris and founded a ceramics workshop known as l\' Atelier Callis, contributing to the renaissance of ceramics in Vallauris. He died leaving behind a considerable body of work that is recognized worldwide and much sought after by collectors.
