Description:This sale is for an exquisite antique estate Rosenthal Bavaria Germany porcelain Whippet or Greyhound dog figurine, modeled by Professor Theodor Karner (1884-1966). The figurine measures approximately 3 3/8 inches tall, & 6 3/8 by 2 5/16 inches wide. The figurine weighs approximately 9.4 oz. The green Rosenthal Bavaria mark, on the bottom, should date this piece to 1928. The bottom also has the impressed T. KARNER MARK, the number 80, & what appears to be an O to the side of the mark.The figurine is in good antique estate condition with one small issue;I HAVE EXAMINED THE PIECE WITH A BLACK LIGHT AND LOUPE. NO REPAIRS-GOOD WITH ONE SMALL ISSUE BEING THAT THERE IS A WHITE SPOT ON THE NOSE OF THE DOG THAT APPEARS TO BE A WORN OR RUBBED AREA OF WEAR OR POSSIBLY IN THE MAKING AND YOU MAY CONSIDER THAT TO BE A CHIP, BUT IT IS FLAT WHEN VIEWED WITH THE LOUPE. THAT AREA COULD BE TOUCHED UP. NO CRACKS, CRAZING OR SCRATCHING.
