EXCEEDINGLY RARE
ROYAL PARAGON CHINA \"MICKEY MOUSE SERIES\" SANDWICH PLATE WITH
WALTER E. DISNEY SIGNATURE AND \"Three Blind Mice\" LEGEND
Description
An exceedingly rareRoyal Paragon Chinasquare sandwich plateprinted by copper-plate and then hand decorated in enamels with an illustration of
Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mousebearing the early signature\"Walter E. Disney\"and the legend\"Three Blind Mice\"- dating from c.1930.
A wonderful image of three mice dancing, one with top hat.
Paragon only produced twelve of these early Mickey Mouse designs for a very short time and all examples are
extremely scarceas the artistic representation of Mickey Mouse was soon to be changed and modified in the early 1930s.
This plate was produced c.1930 which is only two years after Mickey Mouse was originally conceived by
Walt Disney and the first cartoon \"Plane Crazy\" was released in 1928 with the original artwork of UB Iwerks.
This pictorial therefore reflects how Mickey Mouse looked in the very beginning and as soon as the early 1930s alterations
began to be made to Mickey\'s appearance which have left us with a somewhat more portly, toothless mouse with different eyes that the world recognises today.
The plate is backstamped with small decorator\'s orange enamel mark on top of glaze (see photo above). There is the star logo followed by the legend \"Royal Paragon China\"Mickey Mouse Series\"Copyright & Reg.
