SCARCE and super cool circa 1938 Rickenbacher Electro old guitar amplifier:
$355.00

Here\'s a scarce and supercool, circa 1938 Rickenbacher / Rickenbacker Electro electric guitar amplifier, sometimes referred to as a suitcase, lunchpail, or Standard model. A really nice example of this pre-WWII guitar amp, and true musical artifact! It measures appr. 10 1/2\" tall, 15 1/2\" wide, and is 5\" deep. It still has the original - and functional - leather handle, and the original 10\" Rola speaker. (The speaker carries the Rickenbacher serial # C1100.)It\'s all metal, with formed steel construction andblack crinkle paint. As condition goes, it is in really niceshape, with minimal wear and paint loss. No damage.And,....this beauty still carries the ultra cool aluminum Rickenbacher Electro model badge! No volume control - only an on/off switch, and two inputs.Like many oldsters, it takes about 10-15 minutes for this amp to really warm up, and then \'quiet down.\' It probably comes in at less than 5 watts, with a quiet (not noisy) output. It can be pushed with apedal to a useable (i.e coffee shop) volume level, but it does not overdrive easily. The tone is clear and kinda lively with a pedal - not mushy or dark. A straightforward tone, with a touch of warmth (to my ears.) It would probably be safe to say that the Electro is 50% artifactand 50% usable amp. In the right hands, and used with the right project, it would certainly deliver a pleasing and distinguishably authentic 1930\'s sound. It has been professionally serviced within the last few years, and is ready to play, no work required. (The work performed is shown in the photo.) Also, old vintage cords that were with the amp when purchased, and parts that have been replaced (as shown) can be included,.... if desired.Postage will be $24.00 UPS. (It\'s heavier than it looks!) Please take a look at my vintage guitars also up for sale.LEGALESE: NO returns, so please ask any and all questions before offerding. Payment must be received within 10 days, or I reserve the right to cancel the sale.
