Static when battery is connected. Does not work. One small chip; one small corner defect. The radio is about 4.5 X 2.75 inches. See photos for any obvious defects--I try to take a photo of any obvious defect, but I may miss one.
NOTE: If this is a \"Boys Radio\" (cheap 2-transistor radios sold in late 1950s to the early 1960s--the tariff on imported transistor radios was based upon the number of transistors), the case may show signs of damage, as these cheap radios used a poor quality plastic that was easily attacked by other plastics. An er pointed out to me that some people state that their radio \"works\" when it makes any noise at all, or just static. When I state my radios \"work,\" I mean that it actually receives AM radio stations like a more-or-less new radio. If I say it \"works fair,\" or \"works weakly,\" I mean that it does receive AM radio stations, but the sensitivity may be weak, or the volume may be lower than normal. \"Static only\" means just that--the radio does not receive any AM stations, just static only.Do not ask me to convert the sale to Buy it Now. I like my sales to proceed to the end.Here\'s your chance to add lots of vintage transistor radios to your collection. For you beginners, there\'s lots of cheap radios in fair to good condition, but they will display beautifully. Or, perhaps mine is in better shape than yours and you want to upgrade. And, there are several rare pieces to add to an extensive collection.
I\'ll be selling perhaps 100 old transistor radios in the next 10 days to two weeks. Check back every few days. You can combine several items over several days, then ask for an invoice for combined shipping. Be aware that 48 hours after an sale ends will send you a notice of non-payment; however, you will then have another 3-4 days before will terminate the purchase, so just watch for notices to avoid cancellation. About 4.25 X 2.75 inches. IN Smith\'s book p. 89 for $125. See photos for any obvious defects--I try to take a photo of any obvious defect, but I may miss one. I try hard to identify defects and to disclose them. However, as you are well aware, these old transitor radios all have their share of problems. So: The item you receive may have an undisclosed crack or chip. The volume control will probably be a little scratchy. The controls may be loose or tight. The circuit board may be missing a mounting screw or two. There will probably be some corrosion in the battery area. There will be some scuffs and scrapes and dents. If there is a carrying case, the leather or plastic may be torn, discolored, scraped, etc. Any stitching on the case will probably have some missing stitches.Hence, look carefully at the photos and my description. There will be no returns or refunds on any of these 50-60 year-old radios.Any item that doesn\'t sell is going to the thrift store!
