Description Detailed description of the condition.

Framegrabs are taken across the entire film

Physical condition of the film stock. Excellent. No damage whatsoever.
Soundtrack. Perfect with nice clear, crisp and loud sound.

PLEASE DON\'T VIEW THIS LISTING ON A PHONE YOU
WILL MISS SO MUCH DETAIL!

Well, here we go with another Big One!

This is what film collecting is really all about! A timeless Classic that
makes you sit back and smile as it runs through the projector.
This is the print that many have been hoping would eventually turn up for sale
and it\'s finally here. It is an original RED FOX print and even has this identity
written on one of the tails (when I say written, I don\'t mean in felt tip, it is
copied into the film as part of the printing process)

The stability of the printed frame is amazing. For example, at one point
in the film I fixed my eyes on the edge of the castle wall and there was
no more picture weave than would have been visible in the 35mm release.
I don\'t know what Red Fox did differently to other labs but they obviously
didn\'t gain their solid reputation for nothing. Their prints are excellent.

For all those who want to know every detail, don\'t worry, I will cover everything
below . . . as I always do.

It is obviously printed on polyester and has the wording Eastman LPP along
the edge. The date of printing was 4th Aug 1983.

The original boxes are missing but it will be supplied in 6 white card boxes.
There is no cover art or labels for the boxes as non existed when I bought it.

This print was purchased new by an elderly collector who cherished his collection.
Originally the print came on 6 x 400ft spools and he decided to fit it all onto 4 x
600ft instead. He carefully chose a few fade out sections to make the cuts. He
informed me that not a single frame is missing or damaged and he was
speaking the truth. I decided I would put it back to it\'s original state of
6 x 400ft. It was a simple case of peeling the tape joins apart and
reassembling. Because no footage is missing, the joins go through
unoticed and naturally the sound isn\'t interrupted either because
the tape splices do not cover the magnetic stripe.
Full details for every join are listed below.
Sir Robin of Locksley, defender of downtrodden Saxons, runs afoul of Norman authority and is forced to turn outlaw. With his band of Merry Men, he robs from the rich, gives to the poor and still has time to woo the lovely Maid Marian, and foil the cruel Sir Guy of Gisbourne, and keep the nefarious Prince John off the throne.
Reel 1 (400ft)
White leader joined to the original long SMPTE leader
After number 3 on the leader, and the usual black frames that follow,
there is a tape join followed by a modern United Artists logo which
contains organ music that fades out to reveal the actual sound of the
UA logo. This is then followed by another tape join which fades in to
the main titles of the film. Upon inspection, I believe the cut that
follows number 3 on the leader was obviously where it joined the
main titles and someone thought it a good idea to add this UA logo
inbetween. I have left the logo in because it works rather well actually
but if it were removed, the original continuity of the countdown and
opening title start would be restored. I\'ve included a clip of this to view
titled \"Robin Hood Title.\"
No original tail. White leader with a tape join to the final frame.
Condition: Perfect beautiful condition from the 1st frame to the last.

Reel 2 (400ft)
White leader to the 1st frame.
Join after 125ft. This occurs on a fade out just after Robin finishes
swearing his men to allegiance with the words \"And swear to fight to
the death against our oppressors.\" A fade in of the next scene follows.
There is no frame loss or disruption to the sound. This was obviously
a cut when remounting onto the 600ft spools. Again, I have included
a video clip for you titled \"And Swear to Fight\"
Condition: Again, perfect beautiful print.

Reel 3 (400ft)
White leader to the 1st frame.
Join after 200ft. This occurs on a fade out as Marion is waving and riding
away from Robin as she leaves Sherwood Forest and a fade in as Sir Guy
is talking to Prince John back at the castle. I\'ve included a short clip of this
titled \"Wave Goodbye\"

Reel 3 Condition Continued: Don\'t get too concerned before reading this.
I am over critical and my eyes scour for the slightest thing so here we go . . .
Very small emulsion marks (more like flecks) at the bottom left hand corner
for the duration of the entire reel. As action and camera movement hide them
they are hard to see. If you stare at them (as I did) you will notice them more
on stationary scenes. The average viewer wont even be bothered. I have
included a clip to highlight these for you titled \"Emulsion Flecks.\"

[isdntekvideo] Light baseline to the extreme right of the frame for the first 200ft. If you were
to divide the frame into 100 vertical lines then this baseline would be in the
position of 99.5 (just next to the edge of the gate masking). Again I have
included a clip for you to judge titled \"Right Hand Line.\" (It\'s not easy to see
though so you might need to play it a few times).
Original tail with tape join to the last frame.
Again, beautiful colour and sound.

Reel 4 (350ft)
White leader to the 1st frame.
Thin baseline at approx 210ft for a duration of 29 seconds as Robin
descends the castle wall. I have included a clip titled \"Castle Wall Baseline\"
for you to view. The line completely disappears where the clip finishes.
Tape join approx 1 minute from the end of the reel on a fade out and in.
As with the previous joins, this goes unoticed and is very hard to detect.
Condition: Again, perfect beautiful print.

Reel 5 (300ft)
White leader to the 1st frame.
White leader to the last frame.
No more to report on that one, wish they were all that easy!
Condition: Again, perfect beautiful print.

Reel 6 (250ft)
White leader to the 1st frame.
As the film draws to a close, a very thin baseline appears as the
castle doors are pulled together and the credits appear. This remains
for 21 seconds, leaving the remaining 16 seconds of credits unmarked.
I\'ve included a video clip of this titled \"Closing Credits.\"
Black spacing joined to the last frame (possibly to preserve the blackout
before turning the projector lamp off) followed by the original tail tape
joined to it
Condition: Again, perfect beautiful print.

Hope the above didn\'t bore you too much but this is why people trust my
description of a films\' condition.

Supplied on 6 x Black Plastic Posso 400ft Spools
in plain white secondhand boxes.

International Buyers Note: The correct postage is already
listed for this item under the shipping details. Payment Payment must be made within 3 days of sale Ending or Buy It Now without exception. Shipping I will ONLY ship to a fixed physical address. Definitely NO PO Box addresses.

Finding shipping prices for all the countries who might buy this item is an impossibility.
As such, I have intentionally over-priced the cost so that I can refund any over-payment.
This makes it easier because if I accidentally under-price the postage, I just know
there will be that ONE buyer who tries to hold me to it and threaten me with
negative response if I tried telling him the postage was slightly more.

I do NOT make money out of you on the postage and I never will.

If you want an exact price then please email your location and I can tell you the correct
amount. If the item is an sale item, remember that the higher the price it sells for,
the higher the postage amount is going to be because it will incur costs to
insure it against loss or damage.

As a rough guide, usually additional insurance is around 5% of the total item value.
For example; a £200 item weighing 4KG to USA might cost £25.00 plus additional
insurance of £10.00 (5% of £200). Total price £35.00

All I can assure you of is that nobody else here in the UK can ship the same item
for less than I will charge you. They might be cheaper if they don\'t include
insurance but there is no way I would ever send anything uninsured.

If you have purchased a heavy item that is to be sent by courier, please give me your
phone number as it will be required by the shipping company. Terms of Sale I spend a great deal of time producing each advert and take pride in them.
Films are watched in their entirity and frame grabs are taken to help you make an informed decision.
I believe that I am honest in my descriptions but please remember, you are buying film not a DVD or Bluray. Film has imperfections and occasional marks due to wear. This has to be taken into account at all times. If a film is damaged, scratched or has missing footage I will mention it in the listing. Also if the colour or sound is poor. The frame grabs will always show poor colour if a film has poor colour and are not doctored in any way.
Equipment is thoroughly tested and deemed in perfect working order at the point of sale, if otherwise I will always mention it or not even list it at all.
There is always some element of risk when buying a piece of electrical equipment 40+ years old and I cannot guarantee it once purchased. I am sorry but I am not your local Argos outlet.

Returns are not accepted because you do not like an item. One buyer opened a case against me because she did not like a Popeye cartoon and I refused to refund her. A negative was left for me (subsequently removed by ) and she stated I was a Bad Seller. This kind of behaviour is beyond the realms of belief but some people will try to push the boundaries.

I have noticed some international buyers occasionally give a low DSR rating for postage costs which totally bewilders me because I charge exactly what it costs. I actually think they are rating it this way as if they are filling out an independent survey based on their opinion of postage costs. Yes, we all think costs could be lower but don\'t penalise sellers for charging you what it costs us. A low DSR for postal charges should only be given if a seller charges you MORE than it would cost to send. If you think postal charges are expensive then don\'t buy from me, it\'s that simple. Contact Us Any questions should be asked BEFORE you offer on or buy my items.
Please do not start asking questions after you have won or purchased
an item, especially about cheaper postage etc.

Any queries can be sent by the messaging system. Images sell!
