A Thornton-Pickard, Watson, English, Antique Mahogany & Brass Plate Camera Kit A \'\'Thornton-Pickard\'\' or \'\'W.Watson & Sons\'\' mahogany and brass plate camera in superb condition with 3 numbered double dark slides, Beck brass lens & original case, which may be of interest to collectors.The camera is un-marked but seems to have some TP characteristics such as elaborately cast brass fittings, the \'wing-nut\' style nuts to secure the front standard position and the brass arrow level indicator, which I believe may be features of TP cameras.Having said that, it also has elements which are typically Watson & Sons in style, such as the leather hand carry strap arrangement, the positioning of the stamped number \'\'5\'\' (see photo) on the rear inner frame and also the very high quality, which loudly shouts Watson & Sons.The knowledgable enthusiasts out there will know what this is straightaway - perhaps one of you would be good enough to let me know ? Beautifully constructed, this camera appears to be of the very highest quality, dovetail jointed, brass screws all nicely aligned and fine quality brass fittings.The mahogany body in really excellent condition and the black leather bellows in good order with no splits or damage. The glass focusing plate is 4 3/4\'\' x 6 1/2\'\'.The lacquered brass lens is marked, \'\'Beck Symetrical Lens\'\' and is in good condition with clean looking elements.
