Tiffany Studios signed LCT Damascene Favrile Lamp Shade Steuben Quezal era
SHADE ONLY sale. BASE IS IN SEPARATE sale. I have for sale and without reserve this Tiffany Studios favrile/damascene eight inch shade. I used the base for photos purposes only so you could see the shade lit up. The shade lights up exceptionally well and has great iridescence throughout as you can see from the photos. its a lobed shade which makes it more desirable as well. shade is sign L.C.T. in top rim aslo in the photos. Down side is the shade has been repaired. Whoever did the repair work must have been a very very good professional with alot of experience. The shade quite solid and very stable and very presentable as you can see from my photos. it measures 8 inches wide and is 4.25 inches tall. 100% guaranteed tiffany studios and selling without reserve. Please note their is no 20-30% buyers premium like at the sale houses and no sales tax as well to consider. Thats an incredible savings folks. Again this is for shade only and the base is selling in a different sale. Thanks for looking and please check out my other lighting sales.Shipping will be handled by a UPS packing and shipping store which I have had great luck with as they stand by their work if theres ever an issue. Please Some great Bradley Hubbard, Tiffany, Handel, etc. etcPlease remember kind buyers, I have to pay fees off the top, as it’s the cost of doing business. So when I see your offers, I have to subtract those costs to get to my net. The costs can be up to 250.00 per item depending on the final price. So please take this information into consideration when submitting your offer and know that I also had to pay for this item at sale and then pay an 18-25% buyers premium on top of that and then pay for the shipping and/or pickup. I will be offering my lamps as reasonable as possible so as to 1. Not cause sticker shock like so many other sellers, 2. To sell them and not let my inventory sit around for years on end. Thanks for checking this great lamp out and please check out my other great lighting options as well.

As for shipping:
Im sorry to say but for years now I have looked the other way cost wise on shipping but I cant do it anymore. The shipping cost to the Midwest and far west is so much more than what I have to deal with here in the northeast. I have struggled with doing this as I didn’t want to lose my buyers/buyers west of me but it just adds up to too much money in the long run. Please understand I do this very reluctantly, as such, I am adding 20% to anything being shipped to zone two and 33% to anything being shipped to zone three. Example 75.00 regular shipping cost to zone one is just that 75.00. zone two would be 75.00 times 20% which equals 15.00 which is added to the 75.00 and becomes 90.00. zone three is 75.00 times 33% which is 25.00 which then becomes 100.00 for zone three. Bear in mind I am already very cheap in my packing and shipping costs and DO NOT CHARGE for labor, boxes, bubble, wrap, or peanuts and that we double box the shade and ship the base separately. Please notice the very positive response comments regarding our packaging. Sorry to do this and I hope you will stay on as fine and loyal customers.

If the winning buyer is from the Northeast I would like to try and get this picked up or delivered if may be able to hand deliver this item ourselves. What that means is this. If you live in the following radius or just outside it, we should communicate about not using a major carrier, so it has a better chance of survival and minimizing damage or a damage claim as well. Horseheads ny to Detroit mi, Detroit mi to Chicago il, Chicago il to Indianapolis In to Cincinnati oh, Cincinnati oh to Pittsburgh pa, Pittsburgh to Washington dc, Washington dc to manhattan ny, manhattan ny to boston ma, boston ma to Albany ny, Albany ny to buffalo ny. If this option is something you would like to discuss, email me, and if there is a shipping amount posted on the listing, we would honor that dollar amount and not go over it so it doesn’t cost you any further money.

buyers please remember that I am selling antiques and that there should be a degree of expectation on your part in knowing that there will be normal aging and minor imperfections towards an item that is 75 to 100 years old. Chances are if there aren't any, it's a newer item and you shouldn't want it anyways. In other words, a minor blemish on some metalwork belonging to a large shade or a 1/16 by 1/16 of a paint flake missing, please try and be reasonable. I really don't want to do a refund because the finial ( typically a 10.00 piece ) isn't perfect on a 2,000.00 lamp. I always describe the important aspects towards condition reports and sometimes my eye misses what I deem immaterial issues such as the aforementioned sentence. It seems the more experienced an antique dealer or buyer is, the more understanding of condition they are. That being said, if you think you're going to be a difficult buyer because you want perfection in a 100 year old piece, please purchase another seller's product. has made it very difficult for sellers in the past few years yet I'm a good seller who wants to be fair and all I ask for is a fair buyer to do business with. Thanks for your understanding.

There are a few things in life we can’t do without. Food, water, fire, oxygen, the sun, shelter etc. So when it comes to shelter and necessary light for it, that’s where I come in. I believe in living simply and within my means but surrounded by items of great quality. I would rather own a great reverse painted lamp or Stickley bookcase than drive a foreign car that will only depreciate in value and cost me good money for repairs and maintenance. Or pay $40,000 in property taxes a year on a 7,000 square foot home that I only use 2500 sq. ft. of and the wasteful utilities that go along with that.

So why is it people go out and spend say $500.00 bucks on a pair of lamps that in ten years will be in a rummage sale with the hopes of getting $15.00 for the pair. Why not spend $1,000 on a lamp and have something meaningful, and when you tire of it ten years later, sell it, and get your money back in its entirety or even make a profit on top of the investment. Not to mention you got the same usage for that entire time period? This makes infinitely more financial sense than the other choice, plus you have a conversation piece in the room and something to be proud of. Also you have more cultural feeling invested in something 100 years old knowing that it can never be duplicated by modern making techniques and knowing there a few, if any, like it left for this world and now it’s yours. You own it. You display it and care for it. It becomes part of you so to speak versus a throw away item that was purchased at Raymour and Flanigan, Sears, Macy’s or Walmart.

So again that’s where I come in. lighting. Great period lighting when electricity was still in its infancy. When makers like Bradley and Hubbard, Handel, Tiffany studios, Pairpoint, and others cared about quality, appearance, and function. When makers were trying to outdo one another with this new business boom of electric lighting. When we went from whale and kerosene oil lamps and gas, to electric. This is when the best lamps in the world were manufactured and the ones I want to light my home with when its dark. I can’t control the sun or the amount of light it provides or when it comes up or goes down, and whether it’s cloudy or not, but I can control the light in my home when its dark. and like I said earlier, I want nice rugs, paintings, pottery, furniture, etc. and I want to see those items lit by great lighting. It’s what makes a home more outstanding and livable because without it you see absolutely nothing. A quality lamp makes or breaks a room. You can have the best rugs, furniture, paintings, and accessories in the world, but without great lamps or lighting nobody will ever see it. Buy quality and you will never regret it.
