Here is a beautiful Truetone brand (Western Auto) from 1937.This is model 727 that has a motorized tuning set-up.A very striking Deco styled set that has been restored properly to it\'s former glory.
The cabinet still retains 80 % of it\'s original lacquer.The top has been re-lacquered with grain filler and tone lacquer.A very solid cabinet with no issues.It has a new dial cover and all the brass escutcheons have been cleaned and polished as seen.The knobs have been cleaned and are original to the set.It measures 20\"x9\"x 12\".
The chassis has had all of the old wax capacitors replaced with new mylar type.All resistors tested as well as tubes.It has a new 6E5 tuning eye also. The motor gear set was removed ,cleaned and re-oiled and works smoothly (often these have gear damage).An inline fuse was added for safety.It plays superbly with a long wire antenna. The original Rola speaker is in great condition and sounds excellent. It has a very good warm tone with plenty of volume.The chassis is clean and all the tuning rubber grommets have been changed.Please look at the lit dial,it\'s amazing!
