UNUSUAL 1866 ANTIQUE CAST IRON MINIATURE SEWING MACHINE CHILDS PORTABLE SIZE : $1525.00
Just acquired out of an estate this week, we are able to offer this very unusual ~ EARLY CAST IRON MINIATURE SEWING MACHINE ~. It has a first IMP\'D date of Aug. 11th 1865 or 66 \" I believe\" on the fabric plate as well as patented Aug. 6th 1867 & July 7th 1868. It measures 6 1/4 inches wide \" not counting the original wood handle\" by about 6 inches tall. Even though this is a little miniature sewing machine, I believe it was actually designed for an adult to sew with?. I would imagine the collectors will probably know more about this than we do. It is actually in pretty decent condition for being about 150 or so years old. There are no breaks in the cast iron frame. It does look like it may have had some kind of screw to mount it to a sewing table or candle stand which is missing, as well as the needle assembly near the front. It does turn and appear to work properly though. We did not attempt to clean or polish it in any way and will leave that decision up to the new owner. It does have its original black paint with red stenciling. I sure can\'t imagine that many of these are around, and if you collect rare and early sewing machines this would make a great addition to your collection. Being sold as found so PLEASE FEEL FREE to email me for more pictures you may need or for questions you may have and I will be happy to help!. The new owner is to pay 15.00 for secured Federal Express insured shipping \" possibly Priority\" in the lower 48 United States. ********PLEASE NOTE: ~ INTERNATIONAL BUYERS THIS EARLY MINIATURE SEWING MACHINE IS BEING SHIPPED THROUGH THE INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING PROGRAM AND ALL FEES AND CUSTOMS DUTIES ARE TO BE PAID UP FRONT~ ****** I am going to ~DOUBLE BOX~ and package this miniature sewing machine with ~GREAT CARE!~ to ensure it arrives at its new home in as seen condition. ! GOOD LUCK! Thanks! Jeff
