This is one of two baskets by this great weaver we have currently offered, this one is slightly larger than the other one. Avery special and super finelarge pristineold Northwest CoastMakah or Nuu-chah-nulth earlycarrying basket dating from themid 1900\'s. The basket is in the form of a carrying basket and is very finely woven from split cedar bark and dyed bear grasses to produce the striking complex designs that encircle the periphery. The complex design features canoes with four paddlers chasing a whale, the canoes have a flags mounted in the front, whale and Thunderbirds.Design is repeated on the reverese side as well. The basket is in pristine condition and measures 12 1/2\" x 8\"and stands 10 1/2\" tall or 16 1/4\" tall with handles raised. The basket has no damages or repairs . The basket is attributed to \" Rosie Black, of Quiluete La Push Wa\". the super fine weave, amazing condition and stunning complex designs make this basket stand out the many.This museum quality basket will make a great addition to anyone\'s collection.
